Samuel was just a kid when he heard God call his name.(I Samuel 3)
Joseph was only 17 when God gave him dreams of what was to be. (Genesis 37)
Daniel was a kid, about 12 or 13 years old, when God put him squarely in the middle of the most powerful and ungodly place on earth, and then expected him to take a stand. (Daniel 1) Esther was young when God called on her to rescue her people. (Esther 2 & 4 )
Jeremiah was hardly more than a boy, about 16, when God told him to speak out about the sins of his nation. (Jeremiah 1)
Mary was a girl, probably between 13 and 15, when an angel appeared to her. (Luke 1:26-38)
Believe it or not, none of these were perfect...any more than you are. They just had the crazy idea that God was real, and could use them. Because of that....He DID!!
God called the names of the kids of my generation too, and gave them a sense of urgency and a vision to change their world. We weren’t perfect, but some of us were willing. What about you?
