"Do not call to mind the former things, or ponder things of the past. Behold, I will do something new, now it will spring forth; will you not be aware of it? I will even make a roadway in the wilderness, rivers in the desert." Isaiah 43:18,19 (NASB)
Solomon said, "There's a season for everything." And he was right. There is a time to build your faith by looking at what God has done through others and then there's a time to shift gears and step out into what God wants to do through you.
In the Agape Force we drank deeply from the past. We absorbed like sponges, not only the wonders contained in the Word of God, but also the marvels we found in stories of great men and women of faith. We poured over books about godly exploits again and again. We studied men and women of prayer and hungered to be like them. We analyzed men and women of action and coveted the Spirit they had.
But one thing is certain. God consistently refuses to be hemmed in by our traditions ("The way we've always done it.") Just because something worked in the past does not mean that God wants you to do the same thing now. What he wants is for you to listen to Him; to be ready to move when He says "Go" and to understand that success is not in the method. Success is in obedience to His Spirit alone.
