Annie and I met Steffa. Middle-aged black woman from Louisiana. We shared with her practically the whole time we were out there. She missed her plane and had three hours to wait, so Annie and I took her out for coffee. A horrible background - she’s been shot, her sister’s been shot (paralyzed from the waist down) - the night before last, she had two pistols in her hands and wanted to murder her 28 year old friend!! We really got to share with her and she said, “I don’t know why I didn’t kill him. Everything inside me wanted to do it. But for some reason I didn’t. I guess it’s the same reason why I missed my plane. I shouldn’t have missed it. I was here in time for it. But it must’ve been the good Lord. He’s giving me one more chance.” Yes! I gave her the Gospel of John tract. I’m expecting great things! Yes! The Lord HAS gone before us! If He is for us, who can be against us?

Whew! A powerful day out!!!

This afternoon seven of us girls, (Annie Welch, JoAnn Russo, Cory Merrill, Glenda Esquivel, Ilene Harris, Tony Bandych and I) marched downtown Dallas, singing our march song, “Hey! Hey! Hey! Our Captain is here! Our Captain is here, we don’t stand alone...” And then Cory preached to this huge crowd waiting for the bus and then we handed out tracts. People are so hungry to know truth. They gobble it up. Then tonight, we went out to Cedar Springs Street...Gays and Prostitutes area. Annie and I met a 23 yr. old girl, Bonnie, from Richmond, VA. She was a virgin “icky-sweet” girl until 19, and then she moved to Dallas and felt like a freak for being so square. She says now she feels more confident and prettier every year. Tonight at 9 we’re having dinner with her and a lesbian. We don’t have any money to take them out, but we’re believing that God will supply us the money for our meal when the time comes.
